Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat spider veins and small varicosities. It involves using a tiny needle to inject a concentrated sclerosing solution directly into the vein.
The solution irritates the lining of the vein and causes the walls of the vein to collapse onto each other, closing the vein. The injection sites are covered with cotton balls and tape and your leg may be wrapped with a compression wrap depending on the size of the veins treated. Sclerotherapy is scheduled in 30 minute sessions and may require multiple sessions depending on the severity of the veins.
