Medical Assistant - Level 2

Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patients by providing patient care according to established standards and practices. They are to deliver medical care services to patients in an efficient and professional manner. They are to always remain aware of patient confidentiality and interact with patients and fellow staff in a patient, courteous, and tactful manner.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a physician practice office, or completion of a medical assistant program and e xceptional computer operating abilities. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

Coordinates patient flow to specified doctor by: pulling charts, preparing patient exam rooms, cleaning and stocking rooms, sterilizing instruments involving semi-critical to critical, dawning PPE properly, and gathering and recording all information necessary for the patients chart.

Performs phone triage and appointment scheduling.

Trained to used Order Facilitator and schedules surgeries, tests and procedures.

Prepares minor surgery room and surgical trays for operating procedures.

Assists the physician with patient examinations or minor procedures.

Providing wound care including removing stitches, staples, and applying dressings; afterwards, providing instructions to patient on wound care.

Prepares all lab and test results for physician review and notifies nurse of any abnormal labs received by fax if panic VALUES notifies Nurse/Physician immediately.

Informs patient of test results as directed by physician or nurse.

Assists in keeping large volume/variety of medical records and any papers involving patient needs such as CMN, FMLA, etc.

Able to adapt and work in a team oriented environment.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
